Here's a rare opportunity to own a piece of fire fighting history Born on March 18,1951, Sparky was an instant hit with the public, especially children. In 1953, he starred in a fire prevention campaign that reached more than 68 million radio listeners and almost 3 million television viewers. He even appeared on a series of bread labels produced by the Marathon Corporation, in cooperation with a joint NFPA Advertising Council fire safety campaign in the early 1950's Printed on the outside of the box. SPARKY SAYS: "Don't give a fire a place to start" Offered here is a 1950's Gund Mfg co. plush Sparky the fire dog doll with it's original box This doll is in good condition for it's age, some surface dirt and a stain on shirt. I will leave any restoration work up to the discretion of the buyer. He is missing his hat and boots.The original box is in very good condition. He has a plush soft body Plush, soft body and He has a hard plastic face. He is 20" tall. Printed under his chin is: " 259 Sparky National Fire Protection Association"
